At Vulcania, two Fulldome evenings open France’s largest planetarium to nine 360° films

The Fulldome Festival 2026 will take place on September 11 and 12 at Vulcania’s planetarium, with nine films projected in 360°, an audience vote and dedicated ticketing with limited seats.

Two evenings focused on 360° immersion

The Fulldome Festival 2026 has been announced over two evenings, Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12, 2026, starting at 7 p.m. The event will take place at the Vulcania Planetarium, presented as France’s largest planetarium, with a simple and very concrete promise: 360° projections in a format designed for immersion.

The Vulcania park, located in the heart of the Puy-de-Dôme and 20 minutes from Clermont-Ferrand, presents itself as an attraction and entertainment park focused on discovering volcanoes, planet Earth and the Solar System. Its offer includes films on giant screens with France’s largest Planetarium, giving these two evenings a particular place in the site’s program.

Nine films, science, art and technology

The announced program brings together 9 films across the two dates. Vulcania presents the festival as a meeting point between science, art and technology, with works projected inside an immersive dome. The fulldome format therefore places viewers at the center of the image, in a room where the program is experienced through space as much as through narrative.

The audience will not only be watching. Participants will be invited to vote for their favorite film and help award the Audience Prize. This vote is added to the perspective of the professional jury from the APLF, the Association des Planétariums de Langue Française.

The program for Friday, September 11

The first evening will begin with Kiru, scheduled from 7:45 p.m. to 8:07 p.m. for a duration of 22 minutes. It will continue with Cell, Words, announced from 8:12 p.m. to 8:38 p.m., for 26 minutes. These first two time slots set up a dense evening, with little time between screenings.

An intermission with food service available is scheduled from 8:40 p.m. to 9:10 p.m. The evening will then resume with Rencontres dans la Voie Lactée, from 9:15 p.m. to 9:40 p.m., followed by Les lapins trois oreilles, from 9:45 p.m. to 10:07 p.m. The final film on Friday will be Voyage à travers l’Univers, scheduled from 10:12 p.m. to 10:36 p.m.

The program for Saturday, September 12

Saturday, September 12 will follow the same evening format, with screenings beginning at 7:45 p.m. Voyages d’étoiles will open the program from 7:45 p.m. to 8:19 p.m., for 34 minutes. H2O will follow from 8:24 p.m. to 8:53 p.m., for 29 minutes.

After an intermission with food service available from 8:55 p.m. to 9:25 p.m., the program will resume with Celle que la Lune dominait, a very short 5-minute format announced from 9:30 p.m. to 9:35 p.m. The evening will end with Parès au décollage !, projected from 9:40 p.m. to 10:08 p.m., for 28 minutes.

Dedicated ticketing and limited seats

Access to the Fulldome Festival is covered by specific ticketing. Vulcania indicates that the number of seats is limited and that booking is mandatory. Visitors who want to attend the event on September 11 or 12 after their day visit must reserve dedicated tickets.

The listed prices are €15.00 for an adult, €10.00 for a child aged 6 to 16 and €5.00 for a child under 6. These prices apply to Friday, September 11 or Saturday, September 12 from 7 p.m., based on 10% VAT.

Vulcania also specifies one practical exclusion: access to the Fulldome Festival activities is not included in the price of Billets Malins, dated tickets, Liberté tickets, 2-day tickets and CSE tickets. In other words, coming to the park or holding certain visit tickets is not enough to access these screenings, which require a separate booking.

2026 Season Pass: free registration, but with conditions

Holders of a 2026 Season Pass can attend one or both of the proposed evenings free of charge. However, this free access does not remove the formal requirement: registration is mandatory, because the number of seats remains limited.

The procedure must be completed by Wednesday, September 9 at the latest. Vulcania also specifies that registrations do not count as validation: a confirmation email must be received for the registration to be validated. It is therefore this confirmation, and not the form alone, that serves as proof.

An event in a park already turned toward space

Vulcania’s homepage recalls that the park invites visitors to explore several worlds, including volcanoes, natural phenomena and Space. Within this broader offer, the Fulldome Festival emphasizes the planetarium and immersive films, two elements already identified among the park’s attractions.

The schedule published for the festival still comes with a caveat: the program information is indicated as non-contractual. At this stage, the essential details are nevertheless in place for planning a visit: two dates, nine films, precise times, announced prices and mandatory booking.
